BCA-AB AGM

The BCA AGM – Annual General Meeting – for the 2026-27 year will take place on

Please note that participation is granted only to members in good standing (membership payments must be up-to-date).  In case of any questions related to this call for participation – please contact us.

If you plan to attend, please let us know at your earliest convenience or by October 17,  so we can allocate the proper resources/make seating arrangements.

  • O aplicativo E-Titulo é o instrumento para lhe ajudar a acompanhar as instruções relacionadas às eleições 2026. No caso de ter a biometria coletada poderá ser utilizado tambem como ID. Mas a maioria dos eleitores cadastrados no exterior não têm sua biometria coletada: sem problema porque não há equipamentos disponíveis para esta coleta em vários consulados no exterior. Sendo assim o eleitor poderá apresentar outro documento de ID como passaporte, ou RG, ou nova carteira de CPF (esta tem foto e assinatura).
  • Para instalar o e-titulo no seu celular faça uma busca na ‘library’ de apps, disponibilizado nas duas versões operacionais de celulares: IOS e Android
  • Datas das eleições: 4 outubro (domingo) & 25 de outubro (domingo) se houver segundo turno
  • Horário: 8 às 17h (horário local)
  • Verifique seu local de votação no etitulo – o eleitor que já transferiu o titulo ou se alistou com endereço de residência no oeste canadense – províncias de Alberta e Saskatchewan –
    votarão em Calgary no Chinese Cultural Center – 197 First Street SW *
  • Não perca sua viagem – não poderão votar: todos com o titulo CANCELADO, os em trânsito no exterior, e os que não transferiram seu titulo para uma das seções da nossa região*
  • Não compareceu para votar? Você poderá justificar sua ausência de voto já no dia seguinte ao dia da eleição e até 60 dias da data de cada turno eleitoral, esta justificativa poderá ser feita pelo etitulo ou pelo site do auto atendimento do TSE*

School Year: $320 for BCA members
Per term for all ages: $140 for BCA members or $160 for Non-members

TEACHERS & INSTRUCTORS: Our Portuguese teacher is a qualified instructor, and we also have a qualified volunteer to help during classes; some cultural component is included with selected qualified instructors.OVERVIEW: The language instruction involves listening, speaking, and reading, and writing depending on the child’s readiness. Lessons are phonics and didactic resources are used. At the classroom we have a time for story telling, and at this time the kids may want to eat a snack. After this activity we offer a cultural activity, as for instance: capoeira, music and arts.

There are two books adopted in the classroom to help with the teaching and learning:
  1. ‘Kit Papagaio” = ages 4 to 6
  2. Brasileirino: Português para crianças e pré-adolescentes =  aged 7+
The books are available for purchasing at $25 each, please let us know if you are interested to buy the book or use the ones we provide during the classes. If you buy the book, and want to return it at the end of the school year, if it is in good condition to be used by another student, we can consider a refund of your payment.
I take this opportunity to announce a

NEW Program for teenagers / ‘adolescentes’ based on Brazilian Themes / ‘programa temático sobre o Brasil’

The dates, times, location and tuition are the same as presented here. Some input from parents and kids will be considered focusing on Brazilian issues including history, as well as geography and social studies.
If you are interested to take part in this new program please let us know for a separate follow-up.

*About the teacher:*

Samuel Samways is a Brazilian artist with 17 years of experience in partner dancing. His research extends to acrobatic movements, floorwork, capoeira, contemporary dance, contact improvisation & the fusion of Latin American social dances, with an emphasis on Brazilian Zouk, Tango, Forró and Samba.
