2020 Brazilian Elections
This year there were municipal elections in all cities in Brazil. Dates were Nov. 15 and Nov. 29.
However, in Alberta, as in all locations outside Brazil, there are only presidential elections. Therefore, if you already transferred your electoral card location (seção eleitoral) to Calgary, or other outside Brazil, you do not need to do anything. The next elections to vote are the presidential elections in October 2022.
In case your location to vote (seção eleitoral) is in Brazil, and you did not vote as you were
outside Brazil, you must justify your absence to the polls. For doing so, you can do via the e-Titulo app in case you have this app installed and properly working on your cell phone, or online via the TSE website https://justifica.tse.jus.br
You can also check with your ‘seção eleitoral’ in Brazil for instructions. However, if everything suggested here fails, you can wait to return to Brazil, and at that opportunity, you can do your justification of absence (provide your “justificativa de ausência de voto”) based on a law that gives you the right to do so within 30 days of returning.
